The EEX Race collection was born with a clear goal: maximum athletic performance. Its development was made possible thanks to the collaboration with the Esquí Club Arinsal Pal (ECAP), one of Andorra’s most experienced alpine skiing clubs.

The Pic Negre Race Insulated ski jacket was developed for ECAP instructors and members, as well as for any alpine skiing enthusiast who wants to enjoy the mountains like a professional. When conditions on the slopes change, this jacket keeps you warm and dry thanks to our ECOTECH® Professional technology, SGS-certified with over 20,000 Schmerber waterproof rating and +20,000g/m²/24h MVTR breathability. We designed the forearms specifically for competition, with enough space for protectors and gloves, making it easy to put on and take off. The 4-way stretch fabric and articulated sleeves ensure total freedom of movement. Among its functional features are an adjustable and removable snow skirt, a suede cloth attached inside a pocket so it never gets lost, quick ventilation through armpit zippers, heat-sealed zippers with a custom puller, a removable hood with deployable visor, and multiple pockets, including compartments for a phone and ski pass. The cuffs include ultra-resistant microfiber hand protectors. This jacket is part of the EEX Race collection, designed to equip a competition team from head to toe.

The Pic dels Aspres Race ski softshell is the perfect option for sunny days: lightweight, protective, and fully compatible with competition gear. Designed together with ECAP, it is ideal both for alpine skiers and resort riders. Its synthetic deflector insulation provides excellent heat retention, and its arm design allows wearing protectors without removing gloves. It stands out for its wide inner pockets and adjustable elastic straps at the bottom of the jacket.

The Alt de la Capa Race Insulated Zip Off ski pants, equipped with our ECOTECH® Professional technology (SGS certified with over 20,000 Schmerber waterproof rating and +20,000g/m²/24h MVTR breathability), are designed to maintain warmth and protection even in rapidly changing weather. Developed together with ECAP’s technical team, they are perfect for both competition athletes and resort skiers. Their highly elastic fabric allows them to be put on or taken off with boots still on. They also feature RECCO® reflectors to improve safety in case of rescue.
For the EEX Race collection, we used the Dermizax waterproof membrane, developed by the prestigious Japanese company Toray Industries, globally renowned for its innovative approach to combining waterproofing, breathability, and elasticity in technical garments.
Unlike other membranes, Dermizax uses a non-porous polyurethane (PU) technology. Its key advantage lies in its ability to dynamically adapt to both environmental conditions and the intensity of physical activity. The secret is its non-porous hydrophilic membrane, which does not rely on micropores to manage moisture: it is the polyurethane itself that regulates the transfer of water vapor at the molecular level.
When the body generates heat during exercise, this activates a process that efficiently pushes sweat outward. This dynamic breathability improves as physical effort increases, keeping the user dry and comfortable even during intense activities such as alpine skiing, snowboarding, telemark, or trekking.
In terms of waterproofing, Dermizax offers exceptional resistance, withstanding water columns of up to 30,000 mm—making it a reliable barrier against heavy rain and wet snow. Its non-porous structure is also less prone to wear from clogging, which often affects microporous membranes through buildup of body oils or external contaminants. This resistance to degradation extends the garment’s lifespan and reduces maintenance requirements.
Another major advantage is its superior elasticity, highly appreciated in mountain sports where range of movement is essential, such as freeride or technical mountaineering. The membrane is extremely flexible, making it ideal for garments like ski jackets, where unrestricted mobility makes a difference in both comfort and performance.
Dermizax also stands out for its easy maintenance. Unlike microporous membranes, it does not rely on a water-repellent (DWR) finish to remain effective, which simplifies care and ensures consistent performance over time. It also does not lose functionality if the outer layer gets damaged or abraded, since its non-porous technology is not affected by pore obstruction—as happens with other alternatives, including Gore-Tex.
Finally, Dermizax reflects Toray’s commitment to sustainability. Its manufacturing process does not use perfluorinated compounds (PFCs), significantly reducing its environmental impact compared to technologies that depend on these chemicals.
In summary, Dermizax regulates moisture through molecular exchange activated by body heat, offers exceptional resistance to wear, and combines waterproofing, breathability, and elasticity in a balance that is hard to match.
Note: The entire design, pattern-making, prototyping, and manufacturing process was carried out in our own workshops without subcontracting, to maintain our high quality standards and ensure full traceability of each garment. Regular certifications of production facilities and of the fabrics we purchase are issued by the world’s most demanding international organizations such as SGS, Rohs, Bureau Veritas, and Intertek.
